Lautoka Rugby Union Official News

Lautoka Maroon officials and players are over the
moon about their new sponsorship deal with
Lautoka's P Meghji's & Co Ltd. This is probably the
largest sponsorship for a provincial team to date,
and sets the platform for greater things to come in
the near future. The Maroons now display the
"Soyfresh' logo on their jerseys and were recently
featured in the new "Soyfresh" TV commercial which
you can access at the bottom right of every page.
Pictured on the left are Maroon officials, players
and P Meghji directors handing over the $100,000
at the official cocktail function at Hotel 2000 in
lautoka.

With the new management restructure and new officials of
the Lautoka Rugby Football Union, [LRFU] the future looks
bright for the Maroons. Plans are underway for a new
constitution and there is new committment towards
professionalism and accountability to ultimately lift the
standards at all levels of rugby in Lautoka.
There is even talk of building a Maroons Clubshouse! Share

provincial teams, rugby can be taken to new heights sooner

Another boost for Lautoka Rugby has arrived with
Islands Electric sponsoring a new cup competition
for Lautoka's Premier Club Division. The beautiful
"Islands Electric Cup" shown in the picture on the
right, was made in New Zealand and handed over
to the LRFU by Raymond Singh last weekend.
With companies like Islands Electric and P. Meghji's
getting behind rugby, Lautoka will only benefit and
we should soon see a lift in standards at all levels of
the sport soon. The new Islands Electric Cup
Challenge will set new goals for teams not only in
the Premier Club comp but at lower levels as well,
come the end of season team relegations.
